Sink - Renaissance - Blond limestone with asteria.
The model of this sink, salvaged intact from demolitions, and whose base was completely walled in, does not correspond to that of a window sink. The practice of leaving a small hole to look through from the outside dates from later in the 16th and 17th centuries, perhaps a late Gavache practice. This rustic sink has two recessed moldings at the base of the arch. These are not shelf ledges - which were used later - but decorative cornices.
