Travertine cliff and Sillans waterfall

Description

Travertine is a sedimentary limestone biogenic continental rock (built by living organisms). The village of Sillans-la-Cascade is known for its spectacular waterfall 44m high. Bresque is currently deposited limestone travertines. The natural basin at its foot has bluish color characteristic of waters rich in microparticles - here suspended limestone. Along the waterfall itself, we can see travertine veils deposited on the moss.
