Gaec La Source is a dairy cow farm in the Vendée Valley, fed on pasture from March to November.
Nicole and Denis wanted to diversify their business by starting to produce farmhouse cheese made from raw organic cow's milk.
Nicole has recently added a touch of sweetness with her milk jam, made with whole milk from the farm, sugar... and .... patience. The reduction in the milk gives a delicious caramelised taste, flavoured with vanilla and 'Charrette' white rum.
You can find their products every Friday from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at La Fumoire in Montournais (direct sale from the farm maintained. Organisation with barrier gestures), at the various food markets (Pouzauges, St Mesmin) and in the shop of the Pays de Pouzauges Tourist Office.
