The Ensenada de A Insua, apart from its singular beauty, is one of the most important places for bird watching and in any trip you can not miss.
Thousands of waders and wildfowls come here every year, being an important place for their wintering.
We can see commonteals, northernshoveles, euroasian wigeons, gadwalls and a great variety of waders.
Because of its enclave and geographical location, most of the years appear "rare" birds, those that on their migratory routes from Asia or America deviate and end up appearing here.
The Ensenada is a space with different environments: dunes, extensive intertidal sands and salt marsh area, in the latter we can see laplandbuntings, zitting cisticolas , water rails and other birds associated with this environment.
There is a nice walk very easy to walk and that will give us good observations.
We will be attentive to the sky, because with a little luck we will observe the osprey, which regularly flies over the inlet in search of some fish.
The tongue of sand serves as a rest for many birds, among them Eurasian curlews (one of the best places to observe them), oystercatchers ... and where also breeds the kentishplover
The Ensenada has several levels of protection, including ZEPA, ZEC, ZEPVN and is included in the Plan of Conservation of the black-footed plover.
Any time of the day is good to visit, because from one side or another of the inlet we will have the sun on our backs.
The telescope is essential.
The best time to visit is from September to March.
