Discovering energy… The Nogent-sur-Seine nuclear power plant and its employees take turns day and night to produce electricity that is safe, competitive and does not emit greenhouse gases. The Nogent-sur-Seine nuclear power plant produces an average of 18 TWh/year. That is 9 years of operation of the Paris metro! The Nogent-sur-Seine nuclear power plant welcomes the public all year round to its Espace EDF Odysselec but also to its facilities. The Espace EDF Odysselec in Nogent-sur-Seine: The Espace EDF Odysselec is a place of information and exchanges which allows you to discover in a fun and educational way the EDF group, its means of electricity production, its commitment for sustainable development, as well as the operation of a nuclear power plant. It is accessible Monday to Saturday, by appointment, and Wednesday from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m., free access. An exhibition accessible to all: The 400 m² exhibition hall is accessible to all. A dynamo bike, touch tablets and a scenography translated into three languages – French, English and Spanish – allow visitors to understand how a nuclear power plant works and the place of this energy in the energy mix. To make this space accessible to all, automatic doors and toilets adapted for people with reduced mobility have been installed. Audio descriptions and tactile models are available for the visually impaired. Modulated audio descriptions, sign language and subtitles have been put in place for the hearing impaired. Finally, content adapted for certain mental disabilities is also now available throughout the exhibition space. Scientific workshops for 6-12 year olds: The Nogent-sur-Seine nuclear power plant offers scientific workshops for 6-12 year olds all year round. Every Wednesday during school holidays, the Espace EDF Odysselec teams at the Nogent-sur-Seine power plant offer a free scientific workshop to children aged 6 to 12 to enable them to discover the world of electricity. Guided tours on request: In order to help people discover the world of a nuclear power plant, the tour guides from L'Espace EDF Odysselec offer conferences and tours of our facilities for groups. On the program: conference on the operation of a nuclear power plant, visit to a machine room and an exact replica of the control room.
