Immerse yourself in the military architecture of the 13th century, with the keep built by Louis IX, the defensive towers and gates, and the covered walkway overlooking the Camargue and salt marshes.
A 13th-century fortified wall built on the initiative of Louis IX. The 1,634-meter-long ramparts surround the town and are flanked by 10 gates and 6 towers. The Tour de Constance is one of the most majestic examples of medieval architecture. It is also infamous for having served as a prison for Protestant women from 1685 onwards.
