Château La Borderie

The origin of this vineyard brings us back to the XIVth century.
We have commercial agreements dating of 1663. During this period, Perigord is torn by religious wars. In the Bergeracois, many protestants had left for Holland. It is at this time that the trade with region wines started, with the Monbazillac.
Château La Borderie is one of the 17 wines with a “Dutch brand” to be well-known at that time.
The XVIIIth c. stone host house with a plain architecture is next to the stone warehouses and cellars.
At the back, there is a park with many essences. One of the warehouses can contain 22 oak casks, with a capacity of 6,000 litres each. This is unique in the region.
the vineyard is surrounding the buildings, oriented North, clay-limestones soils, with a surface of 36 hectares.
