Eglise de Sireuil

Description

The church of Sireuil depended in the 13th and 14th centuries on the archpriest of Saint André d'Allas and was under the direct authority of the bishop

After the Hundred Years' War and the Wars of Religion, it had to suffer some damage since in 1733 "the horn of the church and bell tower of icelle falling in ruin" a request was presented to the Intendant of the province in order to have an estimate of repair drawn up which will amount to the sum of 936 livres 10 sols. This estimate included the repair "of a large breach of masonry which is by the top of the bell-tower and to remake entirely the degree which goes up to the aforementioned bell-tower, the whole of quartelage", it also included repair of the cover of the nave and its paving.
