Eglise Saint-Laurent de Birac

Description

This 13th century Romanesque church was fortified and rebuilt in the 16th century. It was then equipped with a square battlemented tower and a wooden gallery. The semicircular apse is decorated inside with murals, including a 15th century painted decoration presenting the theme of the Last Judgement in four panels. Christ is surrounded by the symbols of the Evangelists and flanked by the Virgin and Saint John the Baptist. The nave is decorated with a painted decoration from the end of the 19th century.
