Since the 12th century, the town has been made up of two villages which bore the name of their church: Notre-Dame and St Gervais
The first church was rebuilt many times and eight of its former capitals are now on display in the Cloister Museum in New York. It houses a painting by the famous Spanish painter, Zurbarán
The city of Langon has a wide range of administrative, cultural and sports facilities. Its famous pedestrian street was renovated in 2017. The banks of the Garonne have also been redeveloped and regularly see sections of the gigantic A380 pass by. From Langon by road bike, the Canal des deux mers in Castets-et-Castillon is within easy reach and the potential starting point for a nice ride.
