Borne kilométrique

Along the river Midouze, there are remains of milestones. In the 19th century, they were used as landmarks during the transport of goods pulled by horses or mules from the towpath. They indicate the distances to the confluence of the Adour and Tartas rivers as well as the distance to the ocean (arrival in the Atlantic Ocean at Bayonne).
