Today very isolated at the bottom of a small valley about 1.5 kilometres south of Perquie, this humble 12th century church is undoubtedly one of the oldest in the area. Its square bell tower is covered with a four-pitched tiled roof. A shed roof canopy leaning against the north wall shelters the entrance to the church. The nave is pierced by rare rectangular windows. The semicircular apse is supported by a thick buttress.
The main structure is essentially made of Mont-de-Marsan sandstone rubble set in a lot of mortar
The church of Saint-Pierre-ès-Liens is so named in reference to the "Feast of the chains of the Prince of the Apostles", a ceremony commemorating the imprisonment of Saint-Pierre by King Herod Agrippa.
