The Saint Eutrope fountain, patron saint of the Sainte-Eulalie spring, cures leg diseases and cripples. Located 100 meters from the church towards the road to CEL, near a large house, it is easily spotted among the reeds. A statue of Saint-Eutrope, which is now in the village church, originally watched over this fountain.
Eutrope was the first bishop of Saintes, and it was traditional to bring to him children with stunted or weak legs, as well as the crippled. Some Jacquets stopped at the miraculous fountain, no doubt hoping to relieve the pain of their long walk.
