Overlooking the valley from its promontory, the village of Beauville seems at one with the rock. Visit the heart of the town: the cornered square, surrounded by half-timbered stone houses.
For hiking enthusiasts, there are three signposted walks starting from Beauville: one very easy, one easy and one difficult. Something for everyone!
Don't miss the 14th-century Saint-Jacques church. Look out for its pretty Renaissance doorway and bell tower-porch.
To the west of the village is a Renaissance château with a machicolated tower.
It is said that during the Hundred Years' War, Beauville, formerly known as Boville (Ville du Boeuf), triumphantly withstood the onslaught of the English.
