An ancient fortress built in the 14th century, for a long time a stronghold of the Templars, erected to defend the borders of the Dordogne and the village of Lauzun, the Château de Lauquerie was offered by Henri IV to his squire, Sire François de Longueval, for having faithfully served him for 30 years. It remained in the de Longueval family for several decades, was partially destroyed during the French Revolution, and then became the property of the Lajaunie family from 1889 to 1989. Entirely renovated in the 1990s, it is now a private residence converted into tourist accommodation. Mireille Lairie opens the doors of this unusual place for a guided tour followed by a meal and tasting (min 10 people). Afternoon relaxation on request.
