The Hédas is one of the oldest districts of the city of Pau. It takes its name from the old stream that once meandered through this place. The ravine of Hédas, located in the heart of the city, recalls its course, delimiting a mound on the western end of which was built the castle of Pau.
After a year of work, Pau regains its lower town and a whole section of its history and heritage. This 1.5 km walk in the heart of the town connects the Place d'Espagne to the castle. This path allows an easy stroll for people in wheelchairs, children on their tricycle, strollers...
Two lifts (one located on rue des Cordeliers and the other on Place d'Espagne) as well as numerous stairs facilitate easy connection between the upper and lower town.
