On August 16, 2018, a new stele was inaugurated, in memory of 3 American pilots who fell during an aerial combat on January 27, 1944 on the heights of Pierrefeu du Var, whose remains were discovered by a Pierrefeu inhabitant.
After a long and tedious research work, the families of the 3 pilots were found
