The first traces of Château Soutard date back to 1513 with the mention of the bourdieu de Mayne de Soutard. Jean Couture, Jurat de Saint-Emilion, bought the property in 1699. His daughter Marie built the Château in 1741. Soutard's vocation as a winegrower really took off under Jean Combret de Faurie, Marie Couture's son. He devoted himself entirely to working the vines. Soutard became one of the first châteaux to have vines planted in rows. Passed on to Michel des Ligneris in 1919, Château Soutard was run by his descendants for almost a century. In 2006, AG2R La Mondiale purchased Château Soutard. Visits by appointment: 05.57.24.32.36
