The village of Praz sur Arly was originally made up of three hamlets, called "dîmeries": La Thona, Réon and the Pratz de Megève.The most populated was La Thona where the inhabitants quite logically built their farms on the Adret, the sunniest side of the valley. It was dependent on the Commune of Megève and its agricultural activity was limited to daily tasks indispensable for survival. Then in 1834, Praz declared its independence but only obtained it in 1869 because of problems related to the dividing up of the land. Nowadays the Tonnaz hamlet is one of Praz sur Arly's most important heritage sites and it will delight lovers of traditional regional architecture.
In Praz, even babies have their hiking routes! Three marked routes allow parents to walk in peace. Two routes are accessible by all strollers. One is reserved for 4x4 strollers.Arly circuit (marked in blue) It runs along the Arly and lasts about 30 minutes. It provides access to the banks of the river, offering very pleasant places to take a break in the undergrowth. Families with older children can let them play by the water and enjoy the natural setting of the site. Circuit of the Plaine des Belles (marked in yellow) “All paths” pushchair circuit The yellow route is more urban and directs access to the children’s play park in the Plaine des Belles (40 min loop). There, the little ones are in heaven thanks to the many games (including the zip line) and the multi-sports ground. Circuit de Cassioz (marked in green) This third stroller circuit is reserved for “all-terrain” strollers. If you do not have one, know that they are for rent in all the sports shops in the village.
