This beautiful route allows you to discover part of the 5500 km of the Way of Saint James, whose three routes, the Way of Tours, the Way of Vezelay and the Way of Le Puy, meet a few kilometres further north at the Gibraltar stele. This path, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1998, allows hikers to visit the two chapels of Soihartze and Haranbeltz. The first one, dedicated to Mary, was built in 1845 on an old hermitage that disappeared after a fire. In the Haranbeltz district, the Saint-Nicolas chapel depended on a priory whose foundation date is unknown, although writings attest to its existence in 1059. This beautiful building, topped by a trinitarian bell tower, was restored several times over the centuries. In addition to this rich historical heritage, the loop offers beautiful landscapes of piedmont in a forest and agricultural setting.
