A sustained hike through the imposing Chiran massif, culminating in a 360° view and an astronomical observatory. From the Bas Chaudoul parking lot, descend 200 m to the small concrete bridge, cross it and take the path on the right which skirts the house. After a short succession of hairpins, continue on a fairly steep, winding path. You can see the "La Clue" waterfalls, which you will skirt to the right. After this rocky landscape, crest the marl to reach a pasture area. Follow the path across to the pass (Portail de Blieux 1620 m), then climb to the summit of Le Chiran (300 m ascent over 2.9 km). 360° panorama: Mont Pelat and l'Estrop to the north, Mourre de Chanier and Grand Mourre to the south, Lac de Sainte-Croix to the south-west. If you've got a pair of binoculars in your bag, you'll be able to see Mont Ventoux and the Lubéron plateau. Return by the same route.

The summit of Chiran, its astronomical observatory and its panoramic views of the Alpine peaks. From the parking lot, head down to the village of Blieux for 200m until you reach a wooden sign saying "Portail de Blieux et Sommet du Chiran". 1 - Take the path on the right by a small concrete bridge. Five metres after the bridge, leave the main path leading to the house and take a small trail around it to the right. The climb begins quickly. In a short series of hairpin bends,you will discover the rare lavender fields of the pre-Alpine area. Continue climbing the path which can sometimes be steep, with multiple bends but occasionally flat, then around a corner, we can glimpsethe waterfalls of "la Clue". Pass along the right side of the canyon, after crossing several rocks. After this rocky landscape, pass, at the crest, the Robine canal before regaining further up some grazing areas. Follow the path, on a traverse, towards Portail de Blieux. 2 - At the mountain pass (Portail de Blieux, 1 620m),reach the track at the top and through it, reach the top of the Chiran (300m of elevation over 2.9km). 3 - At the top, a reading table will allow you to enjoy the panoramic views of the Alpine peaks. The same route is used for the return.

The Gorges de Trévans, near the village of Estoublon, are deep, magnificent gorges carved out of the mountain. This hike leads to the ruins of the hamlet of Valbonnette.

Starting from Chaudon-Norante, very sunny side. Fairly steady climb, apart from a few brief sections above 10% at the start and then around the halfway point. It can be completed by electric bike in 1 hr.

A beautiful hike from the picturesque village of Saint-Jurs to the summit of Agra and its breathtaking view of the Valensole plateau. In summer, the forest is sometimes closed due to fire risk. From the car park, return towards the village Take rue “Lou pas” opposite, then turn right into rue du Four. Pass under the old castle and join the Col de St Jurs road. Take in front. The marked trail quickly joins the road. Follow it for 500 m. Go up the marked route for another 2 km, alternating along the path in the woods and passages on the small road to the pass. After a final road crossing, join the path at a crossroads of marked routes. Leave access to the St Jurs pass on the left and continue straight on to the pass from where the path leads to the summit of Agra. The path quickly enters a rocky gorge (a little steep but not particularly difficult) then continue the path in bends up to the crest of the Agra. In the middle of the boxwoods reach the summit. Head back towards the summit of Montdenier and go down the path between the rocks to the woods. Turn left along the path and go down in bends, under the pines, to the track. Take in front. The route goes to the left, crosses a valley and joins the Levens track. Return, to the left, to the Col de St Jurs. Then take the path on the left 150 m after the car park and go down to the village.

Through these stages La Routo® allows the discovery of the most emblematic and diverse landscapes of Provence in the Alps, the route joins the Alpes de Haute-Provence by Gréoux-les-Bains, the Valensole plateau, Digne-les-Bains, Seyne-les-Alpes and Barcelonnette to pass by the Larche pass, and continue in Italy to Cuneo, in the Stura Valley. GR®69 La Routo® From Provence to the Alps via the drailles, €16 on sale in tourist offices Stage Saint-Jurs - Bras d'Asse (12 km - 40m D+): This stage will offer you a unique view of a large part of the department. This last stage in the Verdon Regional Natural Park will take you through lavender fields as well as beautiful pine and oak forests. Stage Bras d'Asse - Le Chaffaut (20 km - 608m D+): This stage allows you to reach the Bléone valley via the abandoned hamlet of Lagremuse perched on its rock, and offering a beautiful panoramic view, discovery of large olive trees which bear witness to an important agricultural past. Stage Le Chaffaut - Digne-les-Bains (11,5 km - 190m D+): An easy and hilly stage which will allow you to discover the charming golf course of Digne-les-Bains passing through the pretty village of Gaubert which dominates the surrounding countryside. Then head towards the city center of Digne-les-Bains. Étape Digne-les-Bains - La Javie (20,5 km - 430m D+): This stage begins in the town centre of Digne-les-Bains and allows you to reach wild landscapes. In the second part of the route you will cross a refreshing forest before finishing the stage in the village of La Javie. Étape La Javie - Le Vernet (19 km - 840m D+): the route rises here towards the Col de Boullard in the heart of a green plateau and a sumptuous forest. The mountains are getting higher and higher, this stage will mark your entry into the Vallée de la Blanche. Stage Le Vernet - Seyne (14,5 km - 400m D+): The GR®69 enters here in its alpine part, with the crossing of the Blanche valley, the route is in the middle of the forest from the beginning to the end of the stage in Seyne. It is a very pleasant route, refreshing and always green. Stage Seyne - Le Laverq (21 km - 1360m D+): This is the longest and most difficult stage of La Routo route, but it is also the most beautiful. To shorten the route, a departure is possible from the Maison forestière de Bellevue. Beware of the risk of snow until June.

From the church in Barrême, this tour combines plant and mineral elements on Saint-Jean hill. This viewpoint overlooking the Asse and its tributaries bears witness to the collapse of a limestone cliff during the Tertiary era.

After leaving the village and passing the old lavender distillery, the route starts on the Voie Impériale on the left bank of the Asse de Blieux (alternating track and path), then reaches Senez. Former bishop's palace and superb listed cathedral. An ascent on a minor road leads to the Col de la Pierre Plantée, from where the route continues to climb to the summit of Lièye on a carriageable track. The descent to Barrême takes place on a playful path winding through a sumptuous heath, then along a ridge to the Arbitelle meadows. The most athletic will complete this itinerary in 2 hours.

Starting out in the same way as circuit no. 15, this loop leaves it shortly before the hamlet of Riou d'Ourgeas for a long climb on forest tracks towards Haut Ourgeas and Montagne de la Barre. This is followed by a descent along a beautiful path under the pines to Barrême. The most athletic will do this route in 2 hours.

For your return journey, take the shuttle bus to the village of La Palud-sur-Verdon and/or the regional line 450 to Riez or Castellane. Timetables... To ensure optimum operation, the timetables of the Riez-Castellane regional line (450) and the Blanc-Martel shuttle are coordinated. Online booking is highly recommended if you want to be sure of getting a seat! Please note that the shuttle does not return to Chalet de la Maline in the afternoon.

Since 1922, our mill extracts extra virgin olive oil, a genuine fruit juice, only with mechanical means to olive oil amateurs’ great joy. For more than 40 years we have been making cosmetics and soap made in a cauldron just like Marseille soap. The harvest of olives is done manually with hand and automatic combs to preserve olives quality. Then, we proceed to the grinding of the fruit with a simple mechanical method, without the addition of chemicals or change in temperature. At the end of the grinding, we get an extra virgin olive oil with a free acidity lower than 0.8%. Our mill produces a local extra virgin olive oil. Our olive oil is peppery and refreshing which is specific to the aglandau olives (90%). Nearly 400 olive growers bring their olives to supply you with: - Green fruity olive oil - Local olive oil All our products are available at our shop and online shop: olive oil, homemade products, Marseille soaps… We also make basil, mint and lemon oils. Olive oil sold at the Serres, Orpierre, Sisteron and Laragne tourist offices. We offer visits of our soap factory from April to September by prior arrangement.

The Chiran is an imposing mountainous area settled at the edge of the Commune of Blieux. It had a pastoral mission for a long time, flocks from the lower Provence came there to graze the summer pastures. But now, since recent decades, Mount Chiran is famous for something else: the sky and the stars. The National Centre for Scientific Research in fact chose this place in 1967 for its upper-air and photometric qualities.

On the slope of Chiran, go discover the Alpine Aster (Aster alpinus), also called the China Aster of the Alps.It is a perennial herbaceous plant of the Asteraceae family, genus of Aster. The Aster alpinus enjoys the sun on dry rocky lawns or in light-wooded areas. It may reach 3000m in altitude. It blooms from June to September.

On these pastures you may find what we call "assaliers", flat stones scattered on the grass. It is here, on these "lauses" (flagstones) that the shepherds lay the salt needed for the ovine. This salt is also useful to the shepherds, especially for the preparation of the moutounesso. It so happens sometimes that a sheep is hurt and it needs to be slaughtered. The flesh is then preserved in salt without a salting tub, in one piece, wrapped, dried for a week, then it is eaten plain or in soup.

If you're passing through Barrême, have you ever noticed the large brick chimney soaring into the sky? It's a perfume plant distillery. The distillery was built in 1905 by an internationally-established German company. Set in the heart of the machinery, the museum is dedicated to the surprising history of this factory and the distillation of lavender in the Grasse hinterland. Aromatic plants, essential oils and games will awaken all your senses. Also worth a visit is the museum store dedicated to lavender and perfume plants. Events are held regularly in July and August.

The fame of the chapel spread from the twelfth century especially because of the many miracles of the Virgin. The pilgrimage to Notre-Dame quickly gained momentum, encouraged by the Church which granted, or sold, indulgences to the pilgrims. In the 17th century, these pilgrimages took a particular form. Here were brought the stillborn children, who were resuscitated for a few moments, the time to baptise them and thus ensure the salvation to their soul.

At the top of the trail you can enjoy beautiful views, including Lake St. Croix on the left, the Valensole plateau but also Mont Ventoux and Sainte-Baume.

Without having the rank of royal road, in the eighteenth century it was an important communication route that connected Aix to Castellane. A battle took place on this Courchon in December 1746, one of the battles of the war of succession of Austria which earned Moustiers the fact to be occupied for a few days by the "pandors" (a word which designated the Austrian soldiers). This historic path, one of the jewels of the Provençal heritage, fruit of the ingenuity and work of the ancients is nevertheless fragile.

The chapel was built in the 16th century, in the place of a chapel of the 12th century, with recovered materials from the towers and ramparts which were useless.

The Provençal term "bancau" (pronounced bancaou) means literally "flower bed", "cultivated bed" and in a broader sense "crop-growing terrace" and here in Moustiers, a beautiful olive grove is cultivated. An olive grove is an orchard of olive trees, mainly for olive cultivation and production of olive oil. The olive groves are mainly located in the Mediterranean countries and in the Middle East.
