The longuest hike in Albères To get on this circuit, go down to the crossing ford and go up left on the track DFCI-AL n°42. This initially arduous track,winds over the Chateau de Valmy and quickly offers a very beautiful viewpoint.Widening the track becomes easier and goes on the hillside towards Mas Cristine. At the intersection with the tarmac road, turn right towards the track DFCI AL n°41;This last road is sometimes ravined in places.Throughout the ascent,you can often see Mas nestled in the cork oak forest. Enjoy the wonderful views throuhout the hike.  At the cement water basin (no potable water) turn right towards the track DFCI-ALn°29.Enjoy the plateaus that hug the foothills of Massif des Albères to catch your breath. The descent towards the chapelle Saint Laurent and Mas de la Monge (ruins) At the crossroads of the two tracks, take on the left, track DFCI-ALn°28. Pass in front of the tank n°372. From this moment, stay on this trck where small climbs, plateaus and rolling downhill are pleasant. The track leads to a tarmac track at Mas Coq. Turn right down this road. Be careful not to miss the junction on the right on the track DFCI-AL n°36 which crosses to the cork oak forest and the meadows of Mas Torrenaps et Platjatorta. Follow the track to reach the Faba road opening onto the vineyards and the Meditrranean Continue and arrive in front of the highway bridge. Turn right on the road parallel to the expressway till the second bridge. Take the Massane road at the edge of the vineyards which brings you back to « les Mimosas » campsite and the parking of château de Valmy

A great hike to enjoy a 360° panoramic view of the two Catalonias (North and South. From the Valmy parking lot, retrace your steps to the road and descend toward "Camping des Mimosas." At the ford, take the left path marked DFCI-AL n°42 and follow the PR ARG1 markers. After the Mas Peyrot, you'll overlook the Château de Valmy. At 150m, turn right; the path deepens and ascends through the cork oak forest towards the Dolmen de 'La Cova de l'Alarb' (178m). There are multiple paths around, so be attentive to the yellow pedestrian markers. Cross the DFCI-AL n°41 trail and continue straight to reach the remains of the Dolmen dels Collets de Cotlliure (274m). Ascend to the intersection of several DFCI trails near a concrete basin, where you can take a break before continuing the ascent. Now, take the path that climbs ahead, behind the basin. This trail crosses the DFCI-AL n°41ter twice. At the second crossing, stay on the path until its end at the Roc del Corb (The Raven Rock), also known as the terminus by the locals. Take the path leading to Coll de la Placa d'Armes (677m). This marks the boundary of the Massane Forest Nature Reserve, identified by a sign. Take the left path, Le Rimbau PR ARG3, which plunges into the beech forest and emerges at Coll d'en Verderol (776m). Follow the route passing by the water catchments of Font d'en Cassanyes (Note: for safety reasons, bypass the tunnel) and Font d'en Vergés. At the intersection of Le Rimbau PR ARG3 and GR10, head toward Pic Sallfort (978m). The vegetation here is sparse due to the strong winds. From this point, the panoramic view of the two Catalonias is exceptional. To return, retrace your steps back to Valmy.

The way of cork (VTT)

For the most sportsmen (Red color signs « VTT » (mountain bike) n°4) Go down toward the campsite « Les Mimosas » to take the route de la Massane on the right. The fast lane is on the rignt, after 150m. Be careful . Don’t turn under the bridge. At the next crossing on the left take the road Notre-Dame de Vie et du Faba . This little road crosses the vineyards and serves small and large farmhouses. It  offers an exceptional view of « le Massif des Albères” from where we can cleary see the Ermitage Notre-Dame de Vie and  Saint Julien Chapel. Take the path DFCI n°36 which climbs slightly, then cross the forest of cork oaks and the meadows of Mas Torrenaps. At  the intersection, leave the rancho campsite on your right and turn left onto the paved road. Be careful, for a few meters it’s a very hard steep  slope. Then take the path  on the left,  the path DFCI n°28 to climb progressivly in the massif. Several plateaus  in the massif allow you to catch your breath and  enjoy an exceptional pânorama of the Canigou and the whole plain of Roussillon. Stay on the DFCI path in the shadow of the oak forest . At  the level of the tank n°372, go up towards the St-Laurent Chapel then pass in front of the ruins of Mas Sant Llorenç. Continue towards the Mas  d'en Calet d'Amunt, Pacareu, Piquemal and finaly the de l'Ours to reach the basin. Start the descent on the DFCI -AL path n°41. Caution in this area, control your speed. Don’t miss the milestone showing the descent to the Mas d'en Jordi (massive portal).  From this point, the descent become technical, gullied and crossed by several hiking  trails . Be careful !! While crossing the undergrowth , you will come out on the path  DFCI AL n°42. Take a left  on the path to join the base of VTT mountain bike of Valmy

A "classic" hike in the Eastern Pyrenees Orientales which offers an exceptional panorama From the car park follow the road for 150 meters, then turn left. Don’t cross the ford, take the path left along the high wall of Valmy Castle. At the Mas Peyrot, don’t take the DFCI but follow the path on the left . After the slope, cross the DFCI track, opposite floow the track that goes up into the oak forest and leads up to the Cova de l’Alarb Dolmen Carry on up until you get to a crossroads. Take the second path on the left, cross the track, then take a right and left. At the Dolmen dels Collets of Collioure, continue on the path that leads to the track. Take a left  and carry on up to a pool, walk round the pool on the left hand side and follow the rocky path up to the massif. As the tracks join, take the path that goes under the electric wires and follow this track to the end. (Coll del Camp d'en Selva à 489 metres). There, take the path on the left that passes in front of the Font Sant Andreu.  Turn right to the Massane Tower and follow the edge line path. Enjoy the beautiful view (793 metres) look out when it’s windy. Go back down towards the north to the Coll del Pomer (554 metres). Don’t take the path on the left, carry on to the crossing of the Roc del Grill(532 meters above the sea level). Take a right, until you come to a crossing, carry straight on towards the ruins of Mas d’en Pardès. Lower down, after the crossing, take a right down to the Mas de la Monja. Carry on down the track towards Mas Blanc, join up with the road that leads you to the Valmy car park.

Embark on the conquest of this long hike of nearly 30km and 2000m of elevation gain. From the Valmy parking lot, retrace your steps and turn left towards "Camping des Mimosas." Pass the campsite and Mas Blanc, then begin the ascent on the DFCI-AL trail No. 39. At the intersection of the two trails, turn right onto the DFCI-AL trail No. 28, passing by the cistern. Take the trail on the left that ascends into the cork oak forest. At this junction, take the right path that leads to Roc del Grill. At Roc del Grill, descend towards Lavail. Take the trail on the right that follows the "La Massana" river and Lavail gorges. Cross the hamlet via the road to Saint André. Before the bridge, turn left and ascend into the forest. Points of interest: "Roc de les Medes," a large rocky block, and "Font del Miracles" at the base of a massive beech tree. Then, reach the Col de l'Aranyo. From Col de l'Aranyo, head towards Col des Trois Hêtres and Pic des Quatre Termes. GR10 milestone. From Pic des Quatre Termes (1158m), proceed to Pic de la Carbassera (1000m) and Pic Sailfort (978m). From Sailfort, continue along the GR10, offering an unobstructed view of both Catalonias. Turn right, following the route of water catchments from Font d'en Vergès and Font d'en Cassanyes. At Col de Verderol (776m), traverse the beech forest. At this intersection, turn right, then left onto the DFCI AL41ter trail. Cross the trail and descend the path to discover the Dolmen del Collets de Colliure and the Domen de la Cova de l'Alarb. Turn left onto DFCI AL42 and take the small trail parallel to Valmy, which rejoins the trail and returns to the starting point.

A great bike ride for everyone 1. Start by going down towards Camping "Les Mimosas" to take the Route de la Massane on the right. the fast road is on the right for more than one kilometer. Take the last bridge that passes under the fast road at the level of the Auberge du Roua and the River Massane 2. Cross at the ford  and  proceed  immediately up the slope on the left to rejoin  the Rue des Micocouliers. Turn left towards the Route to  Sorède and pass in front of the fire station. At the small roundabout, follow the Chemin de San Père on the right, and cross the roundabout of the national road.  Be extra careful here as in this sector, the roundabout does not have markings on the ground  indicating   the presence of a bicycle  lane. 3. Take the small road to the Mas Cristine winery, go on the bridge over the SNCF railway and continue on the Chemin de la Couloumine. At the crossroads of Camping "Le Canigou", follow the path of Taxo d'Amont which leads you to the castle. 4. Take the Sainte Colombe Road which turns right after the castle. Cross the two fords to reach the country road parallel to RD 914 at the restaurant "La Campagne". Go left to take the roundabout and pass under the bridge of the expressway towards the composting area. Follow the path of the Pas de l'Arbre Blanc for several kilometers. 5. Walk along the river until you reach the second ford which crosses the Pla de la Barca Trail. Take the path that crosses the Route de Taxo to the sea, the Chemin de la Salanque and leads to the Avenue de la Retirada 1939.  Follow this avenue towards the beach to join the vegetated waterfront promenade. Head south to reach the harbor and its docks. At the boaters parking, join the dirt road in front of you. Follow this route to the secure cycle path that leads you to Valmy.

A fun and easy family bike ride. To reach the village  from the Valmy carpark take the direction of the campsite "Les Mimosas" then turn on the left  again and take the road of la Massane.  2. Ride along the fast road and continue straight towards Auberge du Roua. A t the Auberge du Roua, continue straight on and pass under the bridge. At the ford , go up the bank and  pass  through the small path of the Valmy carpark mall path on your left the Rue des Micocouliers. Arriving in front of the wine-growers cooperative , bypass it to join the river La Massana.After the ford, take the first “bridge” on the left. This path joins up with another path, which does not allow cars, so it is extra safe for children..  Continue straight on, pass in front of the city hall of Argeles -sur-Mer and cross or bypass the carpark to reach le "Cami de la Mainada".  At the roundabout, take the dirt road alongside the gardens, and opening in front of Espace Jean Carrère Take a left and cross the road in direction of le Chemin des Conques. After the city park, take the path on the right. Follow the dirt path that enters into the fields. The campsite Beauséjour is situated at the end of the path. At the  junction with the Avenue du Tech, continue straight on and take the avenue des Albères. Take the cycle path on the right to reach the tourist office.  To extend the bike ride that normally ends  on the beach, take the third exit on the roundabout. along the seaside walking path in a southerly direction until the exhibition of large picture realised by Les Enfants de la Mer.   Continue to  the Port. Then bear right over the footbridge and  proceed on the right to reach the roundabout and the cycle path. At the pleasure sailor’s , carpark get to the dirt path opposite. Then, take the paved road, secure and separated of the road that li  Valmy.This is another section that is very safe and protectred for the kids.
