1- From the town hall of La Chapelle Taillefert, go away from the village by taking the small road towards Massebrot. Stay on the road and walk past Borderies. 2- When you arrive at Massebrot, take the track on the right. At the first intersection, go to the right. Walk past the Patural (possibility to reach the rock of the lost woman) and stay on the narrow road to go down to the village of Montmallet. 3- When you reach the village, take the first track on the left, then the first one on the right to go down to Chier. 4- After the village, turn to the right to go down to La Chapelle-Taillefert. At the main crossing, turn to the right to come back in front of the city hall.

Hike along the landscaped banks of the Thaurion. You'll pass by the birthplace of Martin Nadaud, the famous Creus mason who became a member of parliament.

Go down the Rue Antoine d'Aubusson which runs alongside the château.At the national road, turn left.Cross the bridge over the Thaurion and take the first road on the left. 500 m further on, after the old mill, continue alongside the Thaurion. Follow the path to the road and turn left to reach the village of La Martinèche. Pass in front of Martin Nadaud's house. To discover the Nine-step stone 500 m further on, turn right at the crossroads at the Martinèche exit. After less than 100 m, go up by the path on the left. At the top of the hill is an enormous and enigmatic rock, said to have beneficial virtues. To continue the walk, retrace your steps. At Martin Nadaud's house, leave the road and take the forest track that goes up the hill. Then turn right at the first path.At the road, turn left. After 1 km, at the crossroads with the D941, turn right to reach the village of Pontarion.

The church is the only vestige of the former hospital commandery. It houses an enigmatic recumbent statue and hides a beautiful crypt, home to a small bat. Free admission all year round.

Décrit par le docteur Janicaud (tome 26 des Mémoires de la Société des Sciences de la Creuse (1935), il représente grossièrement un personnage assis taillé dans un seul bloc de granite d'une hauteur de 1,10m. La tête est d'aspect sphérique ; les yeux et les narines sont représentés par de simples trous ronds, la bouche par un sillon horizontal. Les bras son figurés le long du corps. Ce personnage représenterait une divinité gauloise des premiers siècles de notre ère. Les druides y auraient pratiqué des rituels pour protéger le bétail. La religion chrétienne a récupéré cette croyance païenne pour son compte : 'pour dompter le bétail, il fallait le faire tourner trois fois autour du marmot tout en récitant des prières'.

It was in this wood, near the communes of Sardent and Maisonnisses, that on September 7, 1943, seven young maquisards fell to German bullets. A walk through the woods between the granite chaos evokes the creation of this maquis by young Creusois and its brutal and violent end, which made it a symbol.

Dans le bourg, un petit sentier bordé de deux murettes en pierre sèche mène à une fontaine en pierres maçonnées. Recouverte par trois blocs de granite, elle alimente le lavoir hémi-circulaire. Formé par dix pierres à laver, il est accolé à un muret de soutènement. Le fond du lavoir est entièrement pavé.

Au centre du village, un petit sentier bordé d'un mur de pierres posées à sec, permet d'accéder au site. La fontaine et le lavoir se trouvent sous un fruitier. La fontaine, 'une bonne source' nichée dans un muret, était utilisée par les habitants qui venaient chercher l'eau avec les seaux, notamment 'pour les vaches à l'étable'. Une auge en granite et un lavoir aux angles arrondis reçoivent l'eau de la fontaine. Un affleurement granitique situé à proximité du site a été exploité par des tailleurs de pierres d'origine italienne installés au village dans les années 1930.

Opposite "Marie-Louise", the belltower, a path leads to the remains of a cemetary (several graves). Of particular interest is that of Doctor Villard, a local figure and former mayor of Guéret. A flowered cross sculpted with representations of Christ and the Virgin with Child lay near the tomb.

Un écrit raconte que près de Reillat, il existait une fontaine dite Font-aux-Sauniers ou fontaine des Faux Sauniers. On y prétend que c'était un point de rendez-vous pour les contrebandiers qui se livraient au commerce du sel. Un chemin, le long de la route menant au village, conduit à la fontaine incluse dans un muret de soutènement qui alimente un abreuvoir reconstitué. En continuant le sentier bordé de chaque côté de murets et qui remonte au village de Reillat, une croix a été refaite en 2001 par le sculpteur Jean Estaque, artiste local. Cette sculpture, taillée dans le bois, a été placée sur le socle existant. Une Pierre des Morts entaillées d'une croix repose devant ce nouvel ouvrage.
