The area known as "the castle" of Châtenois, also known as the "old fortified cemetery", is located in the south-west of the commune, on the foothills of the Vosges hills. It is isolated by a double enclosure, each bordered by a ditch. This circuit, set up in 2010, is made up of 9 thematic panels which offer an in-situ reading of the remains still visible inside the district and along the ramparts. The results of the excavations are gradually being integrated as the research progresses. Museum Gaspar is housed in the residence of the middle-class family Gaspar from Arlon who had set up in this house (1893) that was built in 1842. It was renovated in 2004. The two most famous members of this family are animal sculptor Jean-Marie Gaspar (1861-1931) and Charles Gaspar (1971-1950) who was a photographer and a sponsor. He gave his house to the town of Arlon on the condition they make a museum of it, dedicated to his brother's work and that put into honour the history and the heritage of Arlon. At the first floor, theree are two restored salons identical to a middle-class salon from the early 20th century that show Jean-Marie Gaspar's sculptures. and the art and picture collection of Charles Gaspar. The rest of the first floor is dedicated to temporary exhibitions of the museum that alternates artv and history. A religion room shows collections about the abbey of Orval and to the people's devotion at the 18th century, and also relics from the ancient Saint-Martin church. But the Masterpiece is the famous altarpiece Retable de Fisenne - a 16th century masterpiece from the Antwerp school. It was bought in 1893 by a middle-class family from Arlon, the family Gaspar. Jean Gaspar (1861-1931) was a sculptor. He was trained by the Antwerp sculptor Jef Lambeaux. His works are in bronze and in plaster and they are exhibited in the salons that have been restorated as they were in his house. His brother Charles (1871-1950) was a photographer, a collector and a sponsor. He gave this house to the town of Arlon. It hosts the library of the Archaeological Institute of the Belgian Province of Luxembourg and its secretary office since 1954. A wide part of the museum is also dedicated to temporary exhibitions about art and history of Arlon.

The ruin of the Oedenbourg, also known as Petit-Koenigsbourg, is not currently open to visitors, but you can see some beautiful remains behind a fence, notably a blind shield wall and several Gothic windows that mark the former dwelling (14th century). First mentioned in the 12th century, the castle was enlarged several times and finally abandoned in the 15th century (hence its name Oedenbourg - abandoned castle).

With its double fortified enclosure dating from the 13th and 15th centuries, its Witches' Tower dating from 1402 and a magnificent bell tower with turrets and glazed tiles dating from the Romanesque period and the 1530s, the ramparts district also offers the visitor a very detailed interpretation circuit on life in the Middle Ages, which several archaeological excavation campaigns have brought to light.

Welcome to Cigoland, the stork and amusement park for all the family! For 50 years now, Cigoland has been offering attractions for young and old alike. Children can go canoeing, drive a 1900s-style jalopy, have fun in the giant ducks, race electric cars... As well as the attractions and activities, Cigoland Park also raises public awareness of the fauna and flora specific to the Ried and Central Alsace regions, and in particular that of the White Stork, the emblematic bird of Alsace. Take the aerial monorail, which criss-crosses the park at a height of several metres, and see many storks in the wild, fly over their nests and discover the young stork chicks and their parents. Other animal species are also represented, including dwarf goats, ponies, Alsatian cockerels, peacocks, swans and even... llamas!

You pass a curious building made of Vosges sandstone. This is the Haut-Koenigsbourg pumping station and its neighbouring building, which houses the spring catchment. Despite its modest dimensions, this building impresses with its neo-Romanesque style. It is reminiscent of the Metz railway station, also built in a style close to the 12th century, that of the time of the Hohenstaufen, the emperors of the Holy Roman Empire. On the top of the facade, there is a representation of the imperial eagle and the year 1901.

Our studio sleeps 4 (2 adults and 2 children) and is located in Kintzheim, in the heart of Alsace, on the famous wine route, a major tourist and gastronomic attraction. One double bed (140x200) + 2 bunk beds. Fully-equipped kitchen (breakfast not provided), private bathroom (shower and WC), bedding and shower towels provided, television (TNT). Possibility of leaving the car in an enclosed courtyard. Minimum stay 2 nights. Small dogs accepted.
