On this ride through the lower foothills of the Parc Régional du Massif des Bauges, you will explore a leafy landscape in a unspoiled rural setting.

Explore protected plants and wildlife along this ride around the Etangs de Crosagny. In front of the train station, head west to join the RD 1201 towards Saint Germain La Chambotte. When you reach the playground, turn right onto the 'rue de Savoie', then continue along the 'route de Pouilly'. Continue along this road, then turn right onto a path across fields. When you reach the hamlet of Futenex, continue along the 'route de Cessens' before turning onto the 'chemin des Crochets'. On your right, go around the farm, crossing fields to rejoin the hamlet of 'les Granges'. At the junction, continue straight on along the 'chemin des Granges', which will pass through the forest for a significant stretch. After a short distance above the hamlet of 'Collonges', take a wooded path towards the north, until you reach the hamlet of 'les Crouteaux'. Turn onto the 'chemin des Crouteaux' until you reach the source of the Combe, then continue west along a path through the fields. At the junction with the Circuit Noir n°11, turn right towards the hamlet of 'Montdurand', then turn right along a farm to rejoin the path between Saint German La Chambotte and Cessens. At the intersection with the Circuit Noir n°11, turn right onto an uphill path through the woods, until you rejoin the source of the Combe. Next, turn left along a path until you reach the hamlet of Dressy and the junction with the RD 54. Turn right towards the hamlet of 'Ansigny', then, once you reach the bread oven, turn left onto a path through fields until you reach the hamlet of 'Mazet'. After a short distance, take the 'chemin de Ballentrand' towards Bloye. At the junction with the RD 910, continue straight on along the 'route du Petit Salagine', then cross the railway to reach the 'chemin des Etangs'. Continue along this path until you reach the Etangs de Crosagny, then head towards the Moulin de Crosagny. At the windmill; turn right onto a path through fields until you reach the 'route de Braille'. Take the wooded path opposite until you reach the Stade Sportif de Saint Félix and continue towards the centre of the village. At the crossroads with the RD 1201, turn right before turning onto the 'rue de Saint Girod'. Cross the motorway and turn left after the bridge. Next, turn right along a wooded path towards Saint Girod and the hamlet of 'Chamberaz'. Once you reach the hamlet, follow signs towards Chainaz-les-Frasses, then take another path until you reach the hamlet of 'Les Lansards'. Once you reach the hamlet, turn right towards the administrative centre of Saint Girod, then take the final road on the left as you leave. Next, continue through fields to reach the administrative centre of Saint Girod. In front of the Town Hall, head south towards Aix-les-Bains, then turn right onto a path as you leave the hamlet. Continue along this path until you reach the motorway underpass, then head north towards 'La Deysse'. Cross the river, then, at the intersection with the 'route d'Orly', cross the railway to take the 'chemin Sous-Bois' to return to the Albens train station.

On this lovely ride, you will ascend up to the village of Chainaz-les-Frasses before 'plunging' back towards the start point. Have a break at the fountain next to the church.

Follow the River Deysse on level country roads all the way. Skirting around old dry swamps, this level route is ideal for a family outing. It runs along a poplar grove, passes the Crosagny Mill and crosses the village of Braille.

The comfort walk takes in part of the Albens Marshes loop. "The Marais d'Albens itinerary crosses the Deysse wet forest. Several information panels adorn the route. A discovery pond was created in 2021 in the heart of this wooded area. It also leads to the Crosagny ponds. Some sections of the route are also used by mountain bikers, while others pass through exploited land (meadows, tree-cutting, etc.). Sharing space is essential and allows everyone to enjoy unspoilt nature."

An exceptional natural site steeped in history, with free access for walkers and overhanging footbridges... everything has been designed to allow you to discover these places. The tour begins at the Route des Bauges, where a parking area has been created. A footpath leads along the Sierroz, along the canyon banks and over two cantilevered footbridges clinging halfway up the rocks. A footbridge links the left and right banks of the canyon. The walk continues as far as the Grésy waterfall, where a number of viewpoints have been set up. Here you can rediscover industrial buildings (sawmill, mills, oil mill), admire the waterfall, and stop at a number of remarkable viewpoints overlooking the waterfall, the Dalby mill, the vat-type oil press, the canyon...

A stroll along the Gorges du Sierroz is like stepping back in time, to a place steeped in history and legend, where in the 19th century celebrities from all over Europe flocked to sail in a romantic atmosphere. Following Ondine and Jeannette, come and discover this charming place full of mysteries: isn't it said that at the narrowest passage in the gorge, smugglers used to jump from one bank to the other to escape the forces of law and order? It's on the new footbridge that you'll be able to judge these exploits. Continue along the corbelled passages to the Grésy waterfall, where various viewpoints have been set up to enjoy the tumultuous waters of the Sierroz. A stele was erected here by Queen Hortense in 1813 in memory of her friend Baroness Adèle de Broc, who tragically perished in the riverbed. Imagine a visit from Lamartine, Alexandre Dumas or Queen Victoria, and you'll be transported back to the 19th century, in the midst of the Romantic period, just like some illustrious characters! On the way back, don't forget to take a look at the ingenious mechanism of the old mill.

This trail of gentle uphill and downhill slopes along the heights of Albens enables you to discover most of the tree species, a geological site, an old bread oven and a traditional forge.

A family-run business for 4 generations, Caveau Quinard, whose vines are located on the high banks of the Rhône Valley in Massignieu-de-Rives, close to the ViaRhôna, has been organically farmed since 2010. The Quinard estate comprises 12.5 hectares of vines. The vineyards are farmed organically. The Quinard estate is also committed to providing a warm welcome: a smile is the order of the day, tastings of the estate's wines are offered, and numerous tourist brochures (in French and Dutch) are available for customers. Julien Quinard made the commitment to organic farming in 2009, the year in which he converted the entire vineyard to organic methods. No synthetic products (herbicides, insecticides) or chemical fertilisers are used. The vines are treated only with minerals and plants in order to produce the healthiest grapes possible. The vinification process is traditional, with no yeast added. This means more manual work (ploughing one traille out of 2, leaving the other as grass), which makes it easier for the equipment to pass through. This is one of the most beautiful lookouts from which to admire the Lac du Bourget, (the largest natural lake in France), in its entirety, as well as the Abbaye d'Hautecombe. This lookout has been visited since 1882, including by Queen Victoria in 1887. The Corsuet Forest, on the outskirts of Aix-les-Bains, is ideal for family excursions and joggers. It offers several lookouts over the Lac du Bourget and the Massif des Bauges. This place of restoration and fresh air has 3 car parks, which act as starting points for several walks. These 4 walks allow you to gain height and reach the various viewpoints overlooking the Lac du Bourget: Sentier du Réservoir (20 minute walk) - Sentier du Renard (30 mins) - Sentier de Corsuet (40 mins) or Sentier du Loup (75 mins). Information boards are placed at intervals, and all walks are signposted.

Opposite the Dent du Chat, a great place to recharge after walking the 'au fil de l'eau' trail. On the grass or sand, relax to the sound of the gently lapping waters of Lake Bourget. No smoking.

This restless garden, rich in wild, self-seeding plants, is open to everyone. Unlike other gardens in the French style, this garden seeks to minimise human intervention, and places no boundaries on natural processes; the plants that grow here are left to develop as they please. The gardeners are required to use good observational skills and their knowledge of the species and their behaviour in order to enhance the plants' natural capacities; their role includes planting local species, watering and tending (without fertilisers, pesticides or chemical weeding). Partial mowing creates paths through the long grass, which is popular with walkers.

A lookout at the foot of the ruins of Château Neuf. An orientation table shows the countryside around the Lac du Bourget, Chautagne and the surrounding mountains. For safety reasons, entering the ruins is strictly prohibited. A bit of history about Les Tours de César: We do not know much about the Chateaux de Cessans, but there are still significant ruins from the château named 'Château Neuf', as opposed to 'Château-Vieux', of which there is almost nothing remaining. These two châteaux are very close together, and guard the Col de Cessens passage, which you can still access by what is commonly (and mistakenly) known as a Roman road. This perfectly paved road actually dates from after the Roman era. Le Château-Neuf, seemingly built in the 13th century, was still inhabited in 1608, but was severely damaged by the French army in the 17th century. Today, we still call these ruins 'Tours de César'.

Crosagny Pond is a sensitive natural area of European interest. An ornithological observatory and an educational path allow you to discover the pond, the wildlife and the history of the site (mill, human activities...). A magnificent natural site to discover by mountain bike or on foot! Located at the heart of the Albanais, the Crosagny lakes (a Natura 2000 protected site) have a distinctive plantlife and receive many animal species all year long. A discovery trail is set up along the western bank of the Crosagny lake. The ornithological observatory is open to the public all year and allows you to discover the lake, the wildlife and the history of the site (mill, human activities...) The eastern bank & the lake - the marshlands of Beaumont - are wildlife refuge zones. With a bit of quiet, luck and patience, you will discover the 1001 riches of Crosagny. Enjoy your walk!
