For several years now, the Sentiers des Arts has been a major cultural and artistic event in the Estuaire region. This loop can be done by bike, for our cycling friends.

This loop combines the discovery of the local terroir with a stroll between vineyards and forest. A detour through the village of Marcillac allows you to admire its listed church, its famous distillery whose fireplace marks the landscape, and its winegrowers' cooperative, 2 local gastronomic curiosities. Then, still between the vineyards, you reach a hamlet and its old flour mill converted into a restaurant. After crossing an open landscape alternating fields and pastures, you pass the Livenne river. You take the wide tracks through the mixed forest. During this quiet stroll, you may be able to observe birds bustling through the foliage or meet a deer at the bend in the path. On the way back to the starting point, you will pass close to the remains of another watermill, a witness to Marcillac's rich industrial heritage

Following the marsh of Vertheuil, where the castle and the roofs of the abbey of Vertheuil can be seen in the distance, the walker reaches the town of Saint-Seurin-de-Cadourne, surrounded by its wine castles From there, the path through the vineyards offers breathtaking views of the estuary and joins the palus, where a path on the dyke punctuated with "carrelets" (small wooden huts) leads you to the port of La Maréchale. Heritage, landscapes, nature, vineyards are on the program!

With its 1250 hectares of vineyards, Saint-Estèphe is without doubt the Médoc appellation that offers the greatest variety of terroirs. Between the vineyards and the estuary, this itinerary will allow you to discover, by bike or by car, its castles scattered in the different hamlets of the village, as well as their rich and singular architecture

The creation of our establishment dates back to 1910, when our maternal great-grandmother opened it's doors as an inn. The hotel activity was developed further in the 1960s. Château Phélan Ségur, located in the heart of the village of Saint-Estèphe, has been overlooking the Gironde with a certain majesty since the early 19th century. The property extends over 114 hectares, including 44 hectares of parks, forests, meadows, streams and ponds, which constitute a remarkable biodiversity reserve. Its 70 hectares of vines benefit from the thermal regulation provided by the proximity of the Gironde estuary. This produces powerful wines often characterized by their tannic structure. The style of Phélan Ségur is distinguished by its elegance, its pure and complex aromas, the quality of its tannins and its balance. Philippe Van de Vyvere has been the owner of Château Phélan Ségur since January 2018. He intends to apply his entrepreneurial values to the search for aesthetic and technical excellence while respecting environmental balance.

Winegrowing château with a family of winegrowers for 2 generations. The vineyard, located in the north of the Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux appellation, on the slopes overlooking the Gironde estuary, benefits from an average of 240 days of sunshine per year. Its exposure, in the heart of this hilly landscape, and the richness of its terroir allow us to obtain wines of great generosity. We produce red and white AOC Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux, Bordeaux rosé as well as Crémant de Bordeaux brut and Perle de Lussan (Méthode rosé).

A Special Jury Prize-winner in the “Discovery and Innovation” category of the Best Of Wine Tourism 2009 competition, Château La Rose Bellevue is a highly original wine estate with a secret garden and good food and wine outings along the water. Indoor and outdoor activities are available for children. In the summer, go for a sail along the estuary in a motorboat, and savour a copious platter of seafood, served with wines from the property.

Château la Martellerie respects a know-how specific to the grands crus. The grapes are turned into wine, aged and put in bottle at the property. The vineyard is located on clay-limestone hills.

The Terrigeol vineyards span 2 appellations and make full use of their location to produce all sorts of grape-based drinks (wine, brandy and alcoholic partially fermented grape juice, known as mistelle). They would be delighted to welcome you to one of the first wine-tasting rooms to open in the region.

In the 12th century, an abbey was founded in Pleine-Selve on the estate that our winery occupies. Built between 1145 and 1150, it occupied a strategic position between Aquitaine and Saintonge. It also served as a relay on the road to Santiago de Compostela, and was home to the Premonstratensian order, which was responsible for exploiting the surrounding land and encouraging the settlement and evangelization of the rebellious population. Its prosperity was important until its destruction by the French troops returning from the sieges of Blaye and Bourg in the 15th century. The old abbey church became part of the church of Pleine-Selve and there are still some remains in the heart of the vineyard. We produce red, white and rosé wine in AOC Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux on a surface of 21,5 ha.

Towards the end of the 19th century, this modern church in Romanesque style was built according to the plans of Monsieur Bonnorre.

The church of Sainte-Marie-Madeleine Abbey is the jewel of the village of Pleine-Selve and the only remnant of the imposing Premonstratensian monastery. Its construction was ordered by the archbishop of Bordeaux between 1145 and 1150, and the monastery buildings were completely destroyed by French troops in 1407 during the Hundred Years' War and then during the Wars of Religion. The church itself was amputated of its nave. The Romanesque church is only the choir of the old church, only the apse presents the architecture of the 12th century. Today it is the parish church.

The old church of the Middle Ages must have been Romanesque, but we know that it is on the baptismal registers of Saint-Aubin, that in 1671, under Louis XIV, a presbytery was built at the expense of the inhabitants of the parish. In 1738, under Louis XV, a Grand-Moulin culvert was built in Saint-Aubin on the main road. The church, restored in the 17th century, has kept its Romanesque character with its old bell tower, its porch and its three panelled naves.

Château des Tourtes is a wonderful family story which is perpetuated. Created in 1967, Vignobles Raguenot thrive on the pioneering and visionary minds of Lise & Philippe Raguenot. In 1997, their two daughters Emmanuelle & Marie Pierre and their husbands take the vineyard of Château des Tourtes back, which is in Blaye-Côtes de Bordeaux appellation. This estate, located in Saint Caprais stretches on 64 ha whose 15 are a production of white grapes. This is a warm atmosphere and full of conviviality that awaits you in this lovely property. If the atmosphere of the place inspires you, know that two lodgings await you in Château des Tourtes. Take benefit of the discovery of the estate to visit the vineyard in a uncommon way : ride one of the bikes to do the "bulle verte", a real immersion in the vines.
