Go down an alley on the left to the chapel and turn right onto the path. Go over the bridge and at the forest crossing turn right, then, very soon after, turn left up the trail to return to the road. Follow it to the right for 400 m.Follow the path to the left. Then take the road to the right towards Chavetourte.In Chavetourte, turn left at the first barn (go ahead for a few metres to see the merchant's house, the cross and the place where animals were shod). Outside the circuit: a round trip to the Mas (panoramic view of the Monts d'Auvergne) and Le Massoubre (bakeries, old chestnut tree).The trail crosses a stream. A few metres later, leave the main path and turn left onto a trail that climbs towards La Mongie. Take the road on the right (go a few metres to the left towards the bakery and the view of the Massif du Sancy).At the edge of the village, take a trail on the right which passes in front of a drinking trough; continue to the left at the old bakery. Find the road and follow on the right until you reach the Bachellerie.In the village, turn left and go back to the fountain-washhouse, passing in front of a merchant's house. Return to the centre of the village: take the road to the left and, at the last house, follow the path to the right. Find the road on the right that returns to Davignac.

In a cool, green environment, the waters of the Deiro flow in cascades between the granite outcrops, with an energy once exploited by two mills that used to grind rye and buckwheat.To the rhythm of the Deiro waterfalls, a discovery trail for the whole family, where the story of the renovated mills is told.From the car park, go up by road for 30 m and, on the left of the information panel, go down by the path along the edge of the field. Continue into the beech woods, cross the stream and descend to the river, the Deiro.At the mill at Lafon, turn right, pass the sign (on the diversion of the watercourse) and continue upstream. After the first waterfall, climb the stairway to the next waterfall.At the Contensousas mill (exterior panel explaining how it works: push the door to discover the old mechanism), continue along the path that runs alongside the old dam on the right, then take the broader path on the right. It rises through the undergrowth and then in the fields. Go up by road to the right to Monjanel and, at the crossroads, go down to the hamlet on the right (1693 building with a large "bassière" which used to be used as a place of worship) before reaching the starting point again.

With more than 1,000 kilometres of signposted circuits starting from 17 communes, the Espace VTT Haute-Corrèze is the largest FFCT labelled network in France. The 50 circuits, which are either family-friendly or reserved for experienced riders, range in length from 4 to 51 km with gradients from 10 to over 1000 metres. At an altitude of 572 metres, on a rocky spur which dominates the Soudeillette and Vigne gorges by two hundred metres, the Ventadour castle stands with its imposing ruins in a site which evokes both the power of medieval feudalism and the blossoming of courtly love, to which the name of the troubadour Bernard de Ventadour remains attached. The castle site was built in the 11th century and the oldest remains currently preserved date back to the end of the 12th century. The ramparts, the round tower, the seigneurial dwelling and the chapel of Saint-Georges can still be seen today. The castle commanded the Viscounty of Ventadour, the towns of Ussel and Egletons. For more than a century (12th - 13th century), the castle of Ventadour was a centre of artistic creation, one of the most important in Occitan countries.

The village of Davignac offers a remarkable wealth of architecture with, in addition to its town hall-school typical of our countryside, the St-Sernin church (listed altarpiece), the Château des Ventadour and its agricultural outbuildings and the chapel of Notre-Dame.

Although it is not certain that this small bridge spanning the Jacquet stream dates back to the Gallo-Roman period, this site brings a note of freshness before the ascent into the woodland.

In the village of La Mongie, be sure to make a small detour to the bakery (carved window lintel) and the viewpoint offering a remarkable view of the highest volcano in mainland France, the Puy de Sancy. At 1885 metres above sea level, this summit is the highest point of the Massif Central. The two streams, the Dore and the Dogne, originate there and their confluence forms the Dordogne.

In the distance, easily identifiable thanks to its television and telephone broadcasting antenna, stands Mont Bessou. At 976 metres, it is the highest point in the Limousin. When you return from your walk, make a detour to discover a magnificent viewpoint overlooking the Monts d'Auvergne from the top of its panoramic tower.

This hike will offer you a remarkable view of the highest volcano in metropolitan France, the Puy de Sancy. At 1885 metres above sea level, this summit is the highest point of the Massif Central. The two streams, the Dore and the Dogne, originate there, and their confluence forms the Dordogne.

It is hard to imagine when discovering Maussac that this site was a coal mining centre. Conceded to a company in 1809, this deposit was mined until 1924; At its peak around 1908, 30 tons were extracted per day. No slag heaps and shafts, but galleries sloping gently down. The station played a major role, the very rich coal was ideal for feeding the forges and the Tulle arms factory consumed almost all the production.

Another Auvergne massif with the Sancy, you will see the the Monts du Cantal during this hike. This massif is in fact the remnant of a stratovolcano born 13 million years ago, the largest in Europe, eroded by collapse and glacial erosion.

Building of the 12th century, it has an interesting semi-circular chevet, with engaged columns, and within a few narrative capitals and foliage. In the 14th century, it was equipped with a side chapel, which houses a remarkable monument in alcove made of limestone. It is a very refined consists of high and low reliefs. Free access.

The Lac de Sechemailles is a 47 hectare lake developed for leisure activities: swimming, pedal boats and canoes, holiday rentals and camper van area. An ideal place to relax and cool off after this walk.
