One of the best means to discover the Presqu'île de Lège-Cap Ferret and to pose a new glance on its inheritance is the bicycle. Departure since the carpark of the Reservoirs of Piraillan, the lanes of "Piraillan Forest" direction L'Herbe and discovery of its oyster village, one of most typical of the Presqu'île. Then cross the forest on the shaded cycle tracks to Truc Vert and its ocean beach and return to the Piraillan Reservoirs (protected natural site offering 2 discovery circuits). This tour can be done by the whole family with the map of the cycle paths and a town map available free of charge at the Tourist Office.

On the Cap Ferret peninsula, after discovering the Piraillan Reservoirs on foot, set off with your nose to the wind by bike, in the direction of our mythical red icon. Cap Ferret is the stretch of coastline that juts out from Lège Cap Ferret. It separates the Bay of Arcachon from the Atlantic Ocean. L'abécédaires des Dunes au Cap Ferret welcomes walkers on a dune trail between the end of the allée des Dunes, the starting point with the letter A for "Algue", and the extreme tip of Cap Ferret and its letter Z for "Zostère". This is a landscape interpretation trail based on the theme of mobility: the mobility of dunes, tides, birds, clouds, the life of sailors... Walking through this dune landscape, walkers are taken from surprise to surprise by a large photo album which unfolds according to the alphabet (G as in "Gourbet", E as in "Epave", H as in "Hameçon"...) over 5km.

Nestled in a green setting where the main species is the pine, bordered by Pereire beach, the Ville de Printemps is a natural setting par excellence Stroll through this neighborhood and let yourself be charmed by the modern villas it conceals.

The walk starts at the Thiers pier, which offers a beautiful panorama of the Bay of Arcachon, with the Île-aux-Oiseaux and the famous Cabanes Tchanquées. From the Boulevard Marcel-Gounouilhou, walk along the beach to the former Grand Hotel. The rue du Maréchal-de-Lattre-de-Tassigny leads you to the foot of the lift which provides access to the Parc Mauresque and the Winter City. In the maze of streets, discover these timelessly charming villas, all different from each other and beautifully preserved! Climb up to the Sainte-Cécile Observatory! To complete your tour, a stop at the Chapelle des Marins will take you to the very origins of Arcachon..

This 26.2 km route links the towns of Le Teich and Arcachon. Following the GR® de Pays Tour du Bassin d?Arcachon and GR®6, hikers can contemplate the southern slopes of the Arcachon Basin. This itinerary can easily be covered in both directions. It can be completed in a single day for experienced hikers, or in two days, allowing you to appreciate the magnificent landscape of the Bassin d?Arcachon. This route is proposed by the Comité Régional de Randonnée Pédestre. Departing from a train station or TER bus stop, it allows you to join a walking or hiking itinerary, and take a stroll in ecomobility!

The Monte à Bord, the tasting terrace of the Compagnie de l'Huître in the village of l'Herbe is a window open to the sea. It is one of the very first oyster tasting establishments in full oyster activity on the Norwegian coast. An exceptional setting by the beach. The oysters are born, raised and matured on the Basin, they are tasted with a glass of white carefully chosen. The terrace of the Monte à Bord is designed for intimate one-to-one meals as well as for meetings with family, friends and groups.

The commune of Lège-Cap-Ferret has 9 oyster villages from Claouey to Cap Ferret: Le Four, les Jacquets, Petit Piquey, Grand Piquey, Piraillan, Le Canon, l'Herbe and Cap Ferret. The word "oyster farming" comes from the Latin ostrea, "oyster" and colere, "to cultivate". These huts are intended for oyster farming, the cultivation of oysters. Since the last century, generations of parkers and fishermen have given birth to these districts and its architecture. The bakery "Chez Pascal" in the village of Grand-Piquey is famous for its sweet speciality: the white dunes. Chouquettes topped with a delicious lightly vanilla cream which Pascal keeps a secret. We come to get some for the picnic on the boat, at the ocean or simply for the homemade dessert. The "white dune" has its variation, called "dune de Piquey": it is the same base as the white dunes, but covered with nougatine.

This is a well-known address on the Presqu'île. People come to Sébastien Bouillon, also known locally as Chez Patachou, to buy pastries, sweets and homemade chocolate bars....
