Between the Plateau de Millevaches and the Massif des Monédières, the Upper Corrèze Valley offers natural landscapes and traditional local architecture, and many hiking trails have been opened thanks to a dynamic team of volunteers working to promote the discovery of the heritage of this area.Go down the Rue du Tilleul, cross the D18 and head towards Laubary. After the cemetery, take the first road on the left. Cross the D18 again. 200 m after the crossroads take an uphill path to the right.On the flat, at the intersection, go straight ahead; the path goes back down to the road. (Outside the circuit: Take the  path on the left; the Menhir du Pilard is in the undergrowth 50 m on the right.) Keep left until you reach Anglard.In the village, turn right on a tarmac path as far as a barn. (Shorter route: Go up to the left by the road, then take the path to get back to the main road). Follow the downhill path to the left. It crosses the Corrèze and rises at a crossroads of tracks. Turn left to reach a crossroads.(Outside the circuit: Crossroads on the outskirts of La Nocaudie). The road to the left crosses the Corrèze; go up 300 m to take the path on the right.Continue straight ahead: The path passes several woods and meadows and then goes uphill alongside a sheep pen.Go back on the road and follow it straight ahead. Go through Chadebec (the pendulum well is on the left). At the edge of the hamlet, turn left on the path that goes down to the Chedebec mill. Continue to return to the road, then take it on the left to get back to Bonnefond.

Along the way, you'll see the Barsanges peat bog below the parking lot, the Orluguet stream, the diversion on the stream that gives rise to the millstream essential to the operation of the three mills, a plank bridge, low-walled paths and the village of Razel... Exploring a must-see site on the Millevaches plateau: the Gallo-Roman remains at Les CarsThis path starts in the granite village of Pérols and leads us to one of the most iconic sites of the Millevaches Plateau: The site of Les Cars. These remains are only one of the many places offering evidence of the life of the Plateau in the Gallo-Roman period. One after another, you will pass through hamlets steeped in history: from Ars and its rural heritage (bridge, bread oven, cross...) to Variéras with its thatched cottages, symbolising the renewal and creativity of the Plateau.

Saddle up and discover the many sights around Pérols-sur-Vézère with this 20km 100km circuit. The circuit is not particularly difficult and you will be able to enjoy this beautiful cycling trip to the full. From Pérols-sur-Vézère, you head for a village of Gallic indomitability: the village of Variéras. A charming little hamlet with 70 houses, its particularity is its thatched houses, just like the villages of our ancestors. You take the road again in the direction of Saint-Merd-les-Oussines. Enjoy a short diversions to its pond with numerous water lilies. On the way back to Pérols-sur-Vézère, the site of Les Cars is less than 100 metres from your path, the most remarkable Gallo-Roman site in the Limousin dating from the 2nd century AD.

A sporty circuit in the foothills of the Plateau de Millevaches, with some technical descents and climbs where you'll have to grind hard.

Tinted with shades of green and touches of pink the Monédières landscape is revealed at the top of the puys.In the square, take the D16 towards Egletons and, before the cemetery, take the road on the right. Continue on the D135 on the right, leave the Plantade holiday centre on the right and continue.Take the forest track on the right. It leads through stands of coniferous trees and passes on the northern side of the Puy Bezin (in the 19th century, a chapel dominated the moorland at the top of the Puy Bezin; today, the heather has disappeared and so has the chapel).At the crossroads, continue straight ahead. The track climbs up the Puy d'Aubart (view of the Monédières: from the dry heath of the Puy de Gussanges, on the right, to the coniferous plantations of the Puy Charrin, on the left, passing through deciduous forests and meadows, this panorama presents the multiple facets of the evolution of the landscape) and descends the northern slope in a few bends.At the junction, go down the track to the right.In the bend, set off on the path to the right. It goes down through the undergrowth, then alongside the valley of the Plantade which runs through wet meadows (called pastures). Cross the stream to arrive at the entrance to Laborde. Continue by the road that goes up in the hamlet and go past the houses.Follow the path on the right for 200 m, then go up by the path on the left into the beech woods. Continue along the small road, then take the D16 to the right to find the starting point again.

Espace VTT Haute-Corrèze, mountain bike circuit n°34 (17 km) starting from the Bugeat lake. With more than 1,000 kilometres of signposted circuits starting from 17 communes, the Espace VTT Haute-Corrèze is the largest FFCT labelled network in France. The 50 circuits, which are either family-friendly or reserved for experienced riders, range in length from 4 to 51 km with gradients from 10 to over 1000 metres. Breathtaking landscapes, views of the Monts d'Auvergne and Sancy, detours through the major natural tourist sites of the Plateau de Millevaches: the Longeyroux and Négarioux peat bogs, the Chavanon and Diège gorges, etc. Links between the circuits allow you to ride stages with different starting and finishing points Itineraries over several days are possible with accommodation solutions nearby (campsites, gîtes, bed and breakfast, etc.).

This trail leads us along the age-old paths that linked the villages of the Bugeac countryside.Departing from the plot, go down after the town hall. Pass under the bridge, continue on the road to Gourdon.As you leave Vezou, take the path on the left. A footbridge crosses the Rochers stream; the path rejoins the road on the right. In Bel Air, follow the road to the right to reach l'Echameil.Go through the village, follow the track that goes up into the woods. When you arrive on the flat, continue for 250 m, then leave the track for the small path on the left in the undergrowth. This path descends and crosses a stream. Go up to follow a path on the left that leads to Broussouloux. In the village, take the road going up on the right.At the last house, turn left on a track that crosses a meadow crosses a stream and reaches the village of Coulournat. Go through the village.Join the departmental road, which you follow on the right for 50 m, then take the track which rises on the left. On the flat, where the tracks meet in a Y, turn left. Before reaching the level of the pastures, follow the track on the left in the fir trees which joins a road.Turn right to go to Ambiaud. Turn right in front of the barn at the end of the village and follow the track to the stream. Leave the track to take a path on the left. At the next crossroads, turn left onto a small trail that fords a stream. Continue on to find a path again. Further on, to the right, a footbridge crosses the Rochers stream again. The path rises above the stream. Turn left at the next crossroads and then right at the rocks to reach Le Massoutre.Go through the village, and go over the bridge. Take the road to the left and then go left again at the end of the village. Follow the path straight ahead. At the bridge, turn right and then left to go through the housing development. Follow the track that overlooks the railway to get back to the starting point.

Entre Millevaches et Monédières, l'eau se confronte à la pierre et vous offre des reliefs à la fois exigeants et agréables … Après avoir traversé Treignac, classée "Petite cité de caractère", vous montez en direct à la pierre des druides qui vous offre une magnifique vue sur les Monédières. Puis, progressivement vous glissez vers Treignac en longeant plusieurs étangs jusqu'au mur des fénéants … PS : On n'a toujours pas trouvé la potion des druides. Parcours labellisé UniVert'Trail par la Fédération Française d'Athlétisme au titre de l'UniVert'Trail Millevaches Monédières. Balisage avec flèches Vert et gris. Accès : A 37 km de Limoges, prendre l’A20 en direction de Toulouse. Prendre la sortie n°39. Suivre la direction Linards puis Saint-Méard.

Parcours d'entraînement d'Alain Mimoun, la boucle de la Vézère est idéale pour découvrir le trail. Elle débute par une portion plane le long de la Vézère qui prend sa source non loin d’ici. Elle monte ensuite progressivement jusqu’au sommet des Bois de Chaleix, à 800m d’altitude, pour déboucher sur le Plateau de Millevaches. Parcours labellisé UniVert'Trail par la Fédération Française d'Athlétisme au titre de l'UniVert'Trail Millevaches Monédières. Ce parcours au relief très varié permet de travailler toutes les composantes du trail dans des sentiers de sous bois très doux. Il peut être rallongé facilement avec le parcours n°2 Balisage avec flèches Vert et gris.

Limousin’s only Paragliding school in the Monédières Massif : FFVL certification (2007). Open from April to October : paragliding initiation classes, discovery days (paragliding school and two-seater flying) as well as individual pilot classes, and microlight lessons for beginners. Our initiation classes are open to children aged 5 and up; our other lessons are for guests aged 12 and up.

In the heart of the Corrèze in Egletons, the Domaine Eden Lake welcomes you to 6 hectares of greenery and lush forests. You will find 17 pavilions on the site, a main building with bar and restaurant, but also a private pontoon with a panoramic view of the majestic 11-hectare Lake Deiro. The site of the Eden Lake Estate is getting a new look after years of being a holiday village. It was awarded the 20th century heritage label in 2010 and is listed as a historic building. Come and discover this magnificent place that has survived the centuries and has kept its authenticity.

This 400-year-old lime tree stands majestically in front of the church and is also surrounded by a small stone wall where it is nice to sit and enjoy the cool shade. With a circumference of 6.40 m to 1.50 m and a height of about ten metres, its trunk is entirely hollow and can be crossed from side to side. The trunk was filled in with stones and cement to a height of one meter.

Among the many miraculous springs that were the object of procession and pilgrimage, that of Saint-Médard is known to cure stomach aches and migraines.

The Pilard menhir is a 6000-year-old standing stone. At that time, it indicated a crossroads between two paths. It was also a place of worship that evolved through the religions: pagan then Christian. A cross was sculpted on the stone probably around the 5th century AD.

Only some magic creatures again seem to live in Clédat... This village abandoned since the 60s, is today accessible by a forest track (passable by car). Formerly place of welcome of the pilgrims and travelers, today the restored chapel early 2000s as well as a thatched cottage, throne in the middle of the vestiges of the village. To see near the village: the fountain Madeleine society, the point of view the Rock, hiding place of Resistance fighters , Gallic Tumulus.

Located on the Millevaches plateau, the three flour mills of Razel have the particularity of being located on the same site. While the inhabitants of Razel and Chaumeil built the collective mill in the centre, two wealthier families built the other two. Now restored, they reveal the secrets of their mechanism. Several hiking trails allow you to discover them.

The forest covers 150 ha and is 95% deciduous, with a good proportion of beech, oak and other trees. You will come across both larger game and the tiny stag beetle, which, together with the European nightjar and the short-toed snake eagle, has made this site part of the Européen Natura 2000 ecological network. Its objectives are to maintain forest habitats and the remarkable plant and animal species that live there. This forest is also part of one of the three ZNIEFF (Natural Zone of Interest for its Ecology, Flora and Fauna) present in the commune. 

In the heart of the Larfeuille national forest, the abandoned village of Clédat is a magnificent vantage point offering panoramic views of the coniferous forests of the Monédières. During your visit to the abandoned village, take a break or have a picnic at the panorama of the rock. You may also be lucky enough to spot birds such as jays, kites and titmice. It's also the ideal place to play botanist, identifying the different species of trees and flowers that change with the seasons, creating a unique landscape. From the yellow of daffodils in spring to the scent of mushrooms in autumn. This still wild and mysterious place is appreciated for its tranquility and soft light, a chance to recharge your batteries and take beautiful photos in the colors of the Corrèze lands!
