A walk for the whole family, on foot or with a pushchair, to discover a little-known place in Arès: the MGEN park and its Rabbit Trail! On the way, discover the emblematic sites of Arès: oyster port, Arès pier and UFO port! Enough to take many pictures with your children.

This walk allows you to discover one of the most important sites of Arès. Through this loop. You cross the dyked and forested part of the reserve. From February to October, the Tourist Office offers guided tours with a naturalist guide. To know the detailed program, consult the heading Agenda. Go to the Prés Salés nature reserve and cross this space with its different landscapes (reservoirs, forest, salt meadow, dunes...). The footbridge that blends into the landscape allows you to cross the canal of the ponds and to access the part that the locals call the "desert". In the village of Claouey, the campsite "Les Pastourelles" is located right on the beach. Nearby, you'll find the market, the nautical club, and the bike path to explore the peninsula. Some pitches are equipped with mobile homes and offer a 180° view of the Bassin, while other pitches are available under the pines in lodge tents. You can also come with your own tent, caravan, or motorhome. At the Cabane des Pastourelles, the reception staff will serve you your best holiday experiences on a platter. At the Cabane café, you can meet for coffee or a snack, with good products to sip and nibble on. The campsite has been awarded the "Vélodyssée" and "Accueil Vélo" labels.

Boat fishing courses on the Bay of Arcachon, suitable for all levels from the age of 8 years old, for 2 to 4 fishermen, supervised by a state-qualified fishing guide instructor, Discovery and initiations (sea bass, cuttlefish, sardines), wedged fishing (sea bream), coastal fishing (sea bass, mackerel, bonito) and tuna fishing. Andernos-les-Bains is located between Arcahon and Cap Ferret. The ocean beaches are approximately 15 km long. The apartment is in the town centre of Andernos-les-Bains, near the indoor market, Broustic parc, oyster port, the jetty, Arcachon Bay, the bicycle paths and everything you need on foot ! The beach is only 200m away. The apartment is recent, on the 2nd and last floor with elevator (accessible to people with restricted mobility). Intended to accommodate children of fragile health and modest condition, this building was built in 1913 at the instigation of Mrs. Wallerstein. This reception area, located on the beach, also opens onto the pool through a sunny gallery with sun loungers. The architects Charles Duval and Emmanuel Gonse built these buildings. The dining room is decorated with magnificent frescoes by the painter Henri Marret. It was in 1971 that the Aérium closed its doors, after having welcomed 3000 children.

Located at the end of the Avenue de la Plage, this old mill now looks like a watchtower, with its crown of battlements. Formerly a windmill, it was located on the estate of the Château. It was built in 1840 by Louis-David Allègre and abandoned when the railway arrived.

Walkers can walk on the Bassin d'Arcachon via the Arès pier. The Arès pier, built in the 18th century, is the simplest and oldest of the Arcachon basin. It is a long cement stone path that looks like a quay. Near the pier, you will find today, the oviport and its flying saucer, as well as a playground on the beach. From the jetty, take the path that runs along the basin to the right, for a 10 min walk to the Oyster Port.

On the edge of the Bay of Arcachon, Arès was built around its port, the most important of the Bay for centuries. There remains a beautiful 18th century pier, lined with its old cannons, now dedicated to pleasure boating. In the town, you will find the Arès tower, an old windmill and the Ovniport, always ready to welcome aliens. A few steps away, the castle of Arès, the church of Saint-Vincent de Paul illuminated by the magnificent stained glass windows of Raymond Mirande and old houses like the house Bardet. The old airy house of Arès, created by the Wallerstein foundation to welcome children threatened by tuberculosis, is the result of a collaboration between the medical profession and a Parisian architectural firm. The buildings of the airyrium represent the archetype of all medical establishments for children built in France between the two wars.

The commune of Arès wanted to highlight the motto, but also the values that are dear to all of us, the values of the Republic: "Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité, Laïcité" (Liberty, Equality, Fraternity, Secularity). On this occasion, the square's 1st portrait was unveiled in tribute to Jean-Moulin, a leading figure in the French Resistance.

Built between 1868 and 1878, this church contains many curiosities. Composed of hard stones from St-Savinien (Charente-Maritime), its bell tower faces east which is the point of sunrise on September 27th (St Vincent's day). By pushing the oak doors of this religious monument, you will discover the organs installed in 1973. Atypical elements, the clams are actually 2 tridacne shells (shells from the tropics). The stained glass windows were created by the master enameller Raymond Mirande (born in 1932 in Bordeaux). It is to him that we also owe the stained glass windows of the churches of Andernos-les-Bains and St-Emilion.

Built on the "Landes Belt" line (linking the Médoc to the Landes), the station allows the ports of the Nord Bassin to open up to tourism, especially in the summer, with the so-called "pleasure" trains, intended for the most disadvantaged. Bordeaux is now only two hours away from Arès. It was at this time that the Avenue de la Gare and the Avenue du Port were born. Close to the old train station, you will now find a playground for children and the Pétanque club ground. Without forgetting the old railway line which has been rehabilitated into a cycle track and allows you to go around the Bassin d'Arcachon by bicycle.

The site of Quinconces remains one of the few "wild" places of the coast north Basin offering a magnificent panoramic view to discover The Pointe des Quinconces, protected and listed in the picturesque heritage of the Gironde, was the favorite walk of Sarah Bernhardt during his stay in Andernos-les-Bains. You can see the old fish tanks dug in 1840 by David Allègre, known for having built the first steam trawler in the world, "the Turbot", in Arès. Following the coastal path northwards, a wooden bridge allows you to cross the Cirès river to reach the beach of Saint-Brice in Arès.

An essential element of the Oyster Port, this wooden statue of Niangon was created by the sculptor Dominique Pios and installed in 1997. With a height of 4m30, it took 600 hours of work to make it. Symbolizing water, the Femme Océane is recognizable by its rounded shapes.
